Kudos: when staff recognize your child
A small badge from a teacher, and where to find it.
What kudos are
Kudos are a teacher's way of noting a good moment: a child who shared without being asked, sat with a friend who was upset, or finally climbed the ladder on their own. Staff pick a badge and can add a short note. The badges are Star Student, Kind Friend, Great Helper, Super Reader, Brave Explorer and Creative Thinker.
Only staff can give them. You see the kudos given to your own children, and no one else's.
Where to find them
On Home, open Highlights, the folding section labelled Mood, kudos & extras. If your children have any, a Kudos Received card is inside it.
What each one shows
Each kudos shows the badge, then your child's name and who gave it (for example, Maya · from Dana Ruiz), then the teacher's note in italics. The card shows the six most recent.
If the teacher didn't write a note, the badge name appears in the note line as well. That's expected, not a glitch.
If you don't see any
The card only appears once there's at least one kudos, so there's no empty box saying none yet. Not every center uses kudos, and some teachers use them more than others.
RoundUp doesn't send a notification when your child gets one. You'll see it the next time you open Highlights, and it's worth mentioning at pickup when you do.
