Center and classroom configuration

What each setting on the Configuration screen actually changes, and the three Save buttons that go with it.

For directors, assistant directors and admins

Finding it

Open More → Settings, expand Center Settings and tap Logins & configuration. Directors, assistant directors and admins can change the Configuration screen; anyone else sees Restricted.

It has three groups — Center Settings, Classroom Settings and Curriculum Settings — each with its own Save. Change two groups and you save twice: the Center Settings Save doesn't save your rooms, and the room groups' Saves don't save your phone, Tax ID or licensed capacity.

Center Settings

  • Phone and Center address — give the full street address; it's also where the parent check-in zone is measured from. Not available in your area means the address saved but ratios won't follow your local rules yet.
  • Time zone — type it like the example, Pacific Time (US & Canada), or the Mountain, Central or Eastern equivalent, Alaska, Hawaii, or a zone such as America/Phoenix. Anything else isn't read as your local time.
  • Delayed media sharing — No delay, 30 min, 1 hour or 2 hours. New photos are held back from families for that long, while staff see them at once: a window to catch the one that shouldn't go out.
  • Tax ID — despite the label, this is your License number from Settings; change one and the other changes. Don't put your EIN here.
  • Auto send reports — the hour families' Daily Digest email is set to go out, unless a family chose its own. 7:30 PM sends at 7 PM. The automatic email isn't switched on yet, so for now a family gets a digest only when they send one from the app; see The daily digest email.
  • Attendance report time format — 12-hour or 24-hour times on the attendance screen.
  • Weather location — left blank, the Outdoor check weather and air-quality card on Home uses your address's city and state. Enter a latitude and longitude if that lands noticeably far from your building.
  • Licensed capacity and Desired full capacity — your licensed number, and your enrollment target.

If anything changed, saving also tells our team and shows Change Request Submitted. Your changes are already in effect by then; nothing waits on approval.

Parent sign in & pick up

Child name display sets how the kiosk names children — First + Last Name or First + Last Initial; records keep the full name. Identification offers Name/Initials (Typed) or Electronic Signature, but today both record the collector's name and the time, and neither asks for a drawn signature. The on/off chips below (filled is on):

ChipWhat it changes
Safe pickupOn by default: a check-out is refused if the name isn't on the child's Authorized Pickups, unless a director overrides with a reason. Off, the name is recorded but not checked. Leave it on.
Classroom accessOn by default: teacher-level staff can open every child in the center. Off, they see only their own classroom's children, and someone with no classroom sees none. Director-level staff and the kiosk always see everyone.
Parents can mark absentWhether families can report an absence in the app.
Teacher editable time cardsOn by default: teacher-level staff may correct their own time-clock entries — the clock-in and clock-out times. Off, only director-level staff can correct them. Moving rooms isn't a correction: anyone can move their own clock-in with Move Room whatever this is set to. See Time clock.
Full week centerTells RoundUp you're open at weekends, so the food program check stops flagging weekend meals.

Check-in from a parent's phone

Parents can sign in via app decides whether families can check their own child in from their phone; off, they're told to sign in at the front desk. When it's on, each check-in is checked as it's made: the parent must be linked to that child, and two more chips apply.

  • Parent check-in zone — the parent's phone has to place them at the center. Until Center Settings is saved with a full street address, families see On-site check-in isn't set up for this center yet.
  • Parent sign-in code — the parent also enters a six-digit code. Under Parent sign-in codes, type the email of a parent on your roster, tap Issue code and read it to them in person. It's shown once; issue a new one if it's lost. Five wrong tries lock that parent out for 15 minutes.

Classroom Settings

Classroom name, Classroom age range, Desired capacity and Student-staff ratio (optional) are covered, with how they affect ratios, in Classroom settings. To add a room, email support.

Real-time naps & meals, Classroom photo sharing, Display name, Login, Developmental framework ages and Curriculum are stored but don't change anything in the app yet. Turning off Classroom photo sharing doesn't stop photos reaching families; Delayed media sharing is the setting that holds them back.

Curriculum and content

Curriculum Settings records which curriculum each room follows — Infants / Toddlers (0-35 months), Preschool (3-5 years) or No curriculum. In RoundUp it's a label only and doesn't load lesson plans into anything.

Under Content management, Lesson Planner holds planner activities and Development Skills your skill groups. Center Menu takes a date, a Meal type and items separated by commas, and a CACFP / USDA check says whether the meal meets the meal pattern while you type — the cheap moment to fix it. If you don't see these, your center may not have them turned on.

The rest of the screen

Hours of operation is its own card with its own Save, and decides when a child still checked in counts as a late pickup — see Set up your center. The Logins card's line about users who haven't logged in isn't a live count; check User Management in Settings. Integrations is in The integration marketplace.
